Bara manga artist Kazuhide Ichikawa has just released his newest gay manga title “Beating The Bull” in which he shows the darker side of his art, exploring bondage and humiliation.  This new manga release is a collection of previously published stories now collected and published together around the centralized S&M theme.

I just received a tip on my facebook page from Logan Kowalsky that a new gay adult manga will be published in March of this year by H&O Editions .  So far the publication appears like it will only be available in French but hopefully soon, someone will translate it and make an English version available .  Logan compares the style of this artist with Japanese mangaka greats Gengoroh Tagame  and Japanese artist Jiraiya .   I would have to agree with Logan as his work definately has the supermasculine features of Tagame, and still some of the Bara features of Jiraiya’s work. 

This soon to be published artist, Song, is a gay 28 year old Chinese man born in Chongqing, China but now living in Algiers where he studied French Literature.  He has been drawing his Manga for quite some time and has previously submitted it to several publishers in China and France and up until now had received negative feedback and response from publishers.   He did not give up, he kept drawing and fine tuning his manga until recently he received a yes from H&O Editions.   Look at the detail in the panel above from one of Song’s mangas and I think you will agree, this guy deserves to be published, his work is incredible, the detail is amazing!  For all struggling artists out there… this is proof, perserverance does pay off!  Congratulations Song, we’ll all look forward to your new Manga in March. 

(UPDATE: 2/25/2011) Song just sent me an email and let me know that the editor contacted him today to let him know his Manga will not be published in March, for some reason it will be delayed.    Keep an eye on the H&O website and when we hear something we’ll be sure to let you know.    Also, here is the poster for the new manga below.   Enjoy.

The term Manga refers to Japanese comics and print cartoons in different genres. They have been in the Japanese culture since World War II; however, historians assert that Manga dates from earlier centuries.

This first edition wasn’t very successful, but years later, the famous Japanese writer Shonen Sekai wrote Manga based on the First Sino-Japanese war. It wasn’t until World War II that Manga became the number one favorite magazine in Japan, though.

The success of Manga is seen in the variety of genres that one can easily find. After World War II, young men and boys were the main readers as the Manga was focused on science fiction, sports and supernatural adventures.
